Go Green Event Sponsor Spotlight: Eco Lunch Gear

I am excited to introduce you to Eco Lunch Gear, one of my wonderful sponsors for the Go Green Giveaway Event that is happening October 5-11! Eco Lunch Gear is an eco-friendly company that designs and creates reusable sandwich wraps, snack bags and more!

Eco Lunch Gear got started when the owner, Tina was looking for ways to reduce their trash output. As she was unsuccessfully searching for reusable products, she decided to design and sew her own! Since the birth of Eco Lunch Gear, Tina has expanded her business to add a couple of talented sewers to meet the demand for the line of Eco Lunch Gear products. Even as the company has grown, Tina has made sure that Eco Lunch Gear stays green.
Here at Eco Lunch Gear we make reusable snack bags, sandwich wraps & cloth napkins. By choosing our organic cotton bags you are helping the Earth twice as much. First for choosing to reuse & second because organic cotton is free of chemicals - in both the growing & printing process. We not only thought of the end result but the beginning as well. --from the Eco Lunch Gear site

I love that all of the Eco Lunch Gear products are made in Michigan with 100% certified organic cotton and all of their supplies are from Fair Trade companies. Organic cotton is definitely more expensive per yard than conventionally grown cotton, but at Eco Lunch Gear, it's what's not in the fabric that is most important - pesticides. Their cotton is also certified to GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) and CPSIA (Consumer Products Safety Commission Improvement Act) compliant. Eco Lunch Gear has even been recognized by Green America as a green business!

The sandwich bags and wraps are lined with a polyurethane coated nylon (the pu coated side faces the cotton layer and only the untreated side comes into contact with the food) so that your food stays fresh and it resistant to water, stain, mildew and rot. So, not only does Eco Lunch Gear use organic fabric for all of their reusable items, but they have chosen beautiful, fun and vibrant fabrics that will keep your food fresh!

For my review, I chose the Sandwich Wrap in and the Feeling Groovy print and the Snack Bag in the Mood Rings print. I just love the colors and patterns! The wrap and the bag are made very well and I can tell that they are going to hold up for many lunches and snacks to come! The sandwich wrap easily folded around my PB&J sandwich and the velcro kept it secure and all the crumbs on the inside...this was especially helpful, since little man carried around my sandwich rather vigorously before I packed it in a lunch sack!  The sandwich wrap can also be used to keep bagels or a sliced orange fresh and when it is unfolded, (the sandwich wrap measures approximately 13" x 15") it doubles as a place mat!

My sandwich all wrapped up! I love that they designed the label with a place to write your name! I'm still not sure if my name is going on it or little man's! :)
Little man loved the colors and just had a blast carrying/running with my sandwich!

I think the snack bag is really fun! It is designed like an envelope and can be completely unfolded, which is perfect for easy cleanup and wiping away all those little crumbs! The approximate size of the sandwich wrap is 3 1/2" x 6" - perfect for cookies, fruit or veggie slices, crackers or whatever else your little one is snacking on! Both the wrap and the bag fit perfectly in my lunch sacks as well as in my purse, they are perfect lunch and snack solutions when you are out and about, at work or sending your little one to school!

I also love that the wraps and bags are machine and/or hand washable. They all have a double row of velcro, so all you have to do is fold the tabs down, (so the velcro doesn't stick to your other clothes) and toss them in the washing machine! You can also just wash them off in the sink when you are doing dishes and then hang them to line dry. Eco Lunch Gear also pre-shrinks all their fabric, you you don't have to worry about the cotton shrinking and puckering. They really have thought of everything! All of the items from Eco Lunch Gear are designed to be used over and over again - helping to keep trash out of the landfills and helping you pack a safe, fun lunch!

Eco Lunch Gear is one of the sponsors for the Go Green Event (happening October 5-11) and they have generously offered one of the winners a Sandwich Wrap (ARV $9.50) and a Snack Bag (ARV $9.50) in their choice of prints!
