-CLOSED- Little Green Books Review & Giveaway!

Plant the seeds of earth-friendly living with Little Green Books.

My little man LOVES books! He loves to flip through the pages and look at the pictures and he loves hearing the stories. I am so glad that my little man likes books so much, so I try to get him a variety of books that are not only cute and entertaining to look at, but are books that will continue to provide teachable moments as he grows up.
I cherish the times throughout the day where my little man is cuddled in my lap listening intently and waiting for the moment when I take a pause so he can flip the page over. It is so cute to watch him turn a page and then pause, knowing that something has to happen before he can do that again! I am so happy that I discovered Little Green Books for my little man! As he continues to grow up and absorb all kinds of information and input, I am happy that I have the opportunity to "plant the seeds of earth-friendly living" in him from this early age. Simon and Schuster have a line of books about environmental issues, called Little Green Books. They want to use books to get children excited about being green. The line of Little Green Books cover topics from recycling and replanting to creating an awareness of endangered animals and much more! On top of that, each book in this environmentally friendly line is made from recycled materials and printed with vegetable or soy inks! They really practice what they teach!

Simon & Schuster generously sent me four books to review:

What Do You See?: A Lift-the-Flap Book About Endangered Animals
The author's clever rhyming text entices young readers to guess which endangered species is hiding beneath each flap! From a panda bear to a butterfly, each spread features text and die cuts which hint at the animal's identity, until finally it is revealed by lifting the flap! Composed of 100% recycled material, this playful and interactive new title is both entertaining and educational!

My First Garden
Come along with a mother and daughter as they dig up soil, plant a flower bed, and water the seeds to make their very first garden. Together they watch the colorful vegetables grow, grow, grow! This book teaches a first concept of colors as well. The book has a handle die-cut through on every page so kids can take the book with them wherever they go!

Little  Panda and Little Monkey
Meet Little Monkey and his friend Little Panda as they spend their day eating their favorite foods and playing together! Little ones will love to cuddle with this supersoft fleece cloth book that's made out of cotton and recycled Polartec® fleece. This book is machine-washable and comes packaged in a chipboard box that's made from 100% recycled material. It's the perfect gift for a baby

My little man and I both loved reading through theses books! The Little Monkey and Little Panda are definitely his favorites because he can flip through them with out my help. It is so cute to watch him crawl over to the bookcase, pull these books out and "read" through them on his own! The pages are nice and thick, so it is super easy for him to grasp the pages. The colors are nice and vibrant and the story is cute and entertaining. Best of all, it is washable- because little man loves these books so much, he likes to put them in his mouth sometimes!

What Do You See? and My First Garden have been fun to read to my little man as he is sitting on my lap. He loves animals and has had a lot of fun watching me open the flaps on the What Do You See? book!
I have really enjoyed reading through My First Garden with my little man, because it reminds me of when my mom and brother and I would garden in our back yard. I don't really have a green thumb, but I can wait to teach my little man about planting seeds and growing some tasty veggies! I think it's more about the bonding and learning aspect rather than the bountiful harvest...because honestly, I am not very good with plants...but I try! More than anything, I am so thankful to be able to spend this time with my son, reading to him and teaching him valuable lessons about taking care of his home, the earth.

  7. My daughter would really like "I Can Save the Ocean:The Little Green Monster Cleans Up the Beach". Last summer we took her to the beach for the first time and she loved it! We talked about the fish and cleaning up after herself so the trash wouldn't go in the water.
