(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - Pass the Brie Cheese Please!

How many 21 month toddlers have an affinity for brie and goat cheese? Mine does! We were feeding little man his dinner and we were enjoying a plate of brie cheese, goat cheese, a loaf of rosemary bread and some little green olives... and all he wanted was what we were eating. So, I put some brie cheese on a piece of bread and...yum! Little man scarfed it down! He loved the goat cheese just as much and kept asking for "Bee cheese" and "goat cheese please". Then he wanted to try an olive, so we cut a small slice for him (I did not think he would like it) and he chewed it for a second, paused to ponder the flavor and then burst out with, "More ovives!" I guess you don't know what they will like unless you give them the opportunity to try it! I'm so proud of our little gourmet! What an adventurous spirit he has!

Smash it in there!
Ooooh! That tastes good!

"Ovives!"

Happy Wednesday!

We Have a Winner! (...and where I've been)

I know it's been awfully quiet around here....but little man and I (and my mom who is here visiting) have been battling a cold bug. No fun! I had lots of posts that I had had planned for this week, (including a tutorial for painting designs on shirts using freezer paper!). Instead, we've been dealing with runny noses, stuffy heads and general feelings of icky-ness. Little man is finally feeling better and has his energy back, he just has a lingering drippy nose. I'm doing better, but am still a bit congested/drippy (it's so weird how you can be both at the same time) and my head seems to be full of cotton balls or something, because I'm pretty sure the blender doesn't go in the refrigerator! (silly me) Lots of tea/juice, rest and steamy bathrooms have the family back on the road to recovery! So keep your eyes peeled this next week as I get myself ready to get back into the swing of things!

Sorry it took me a little longer than normal to post the winner for the Wild Dill giveaway, so without any further delay:

Congratulations to the winner of the Wild Dill Giveaway...entry #111, Joy N.!

Thank you to everyone who entered and a big thank you to Wild Dill for the generous review and giveaway offer!

This was my first giveaway using Rafflecopter and I'm curious to know what you all thought. Did you like it? Is it easier than posting individual comments? Should I keep using it?

Wordless Wednesday - Grocery Shopping

We went grocery shopping the other day and thought it would be fun if little man could push around his own grocery cart! I didn't really think he'd be big enough to do it on his own... (*sniff, sniff! I keep forgetting he's not a baby anymore!*) but I guess, he really is a big boy! Daddy was great and helped guide him up and down the isles! He didn't crash into anyone's ankles, carts or any displays either! (Proud mommy!)

Mommy, I think we need more milk

 Happy Wednesday!

More Fun with Freezer Paper!

I love stocking up on plain t-shirts and undershirt packs for little man at Target or Walmart, when they are on sale clearance. I like to get a size up (since they usually shrink - especially the undershirt packs!) so I have plenty of time to do something "crafty" with them before little man grows out of them. Speaking of which, little man seems to be having a growth spurt! He's shooting up like a weed...which has also left his closet a bit sparse. So, a few evenings ago, I was in a particularly "crafty" mood (why do these moods always strike at night?) and decided to make little man a few new shirts!

The first one I had was a bright aqua-y color and for some reason, it took me forever to figure out what I wanted on it. For $1.50 at Target...I just couldn't pass it up! It is a fairly light aqua and could definitely be a boys or girls shirt, so I definitely wanted it to end up looking "boy-ish". I ended up creating a bold, graphic design that I made with the help of the rectangle tool and Microsoft Word (but inspired by the triangle design HERE)...

I always get so nervous when I go to remove the freezer paper!

I think it turned out great! I was so happy with the final product!
I love my new shirt Mommy!

Next, I had a plain, gray undershirt that was part of a pack of 6 boys mixed color undershirts on clearance at Target for $5 and change. (love Target clearance!) I was inspired by a t-shirt I saw HERE on Pinterest and decided that little man needed a California <3 shirt! I printed out a stencil of our state and cut out a tiny heart...then, (with hubby and Google map's help) placed the heart in our general location and...

Notice little man's hand inching over to feel the fun (& thankfully dry) paint texture, somewhere over central CA.

Ta-daaa!
Little man's turn to be the artist

I had so much fun creating these unique shirts for little man and for the price of some fabric paint, foam brushes and some clearances tees...little man has something special made by his Mommy! Ahhh.... <3! Now, he just needs to stop growing so he can wear them for longer than two weeks! Haha!
What fun crafts have you been working on?

There's Something NEW on the Blog!

I'm testing out something new on the blog (and hopefully it will be easy for everyone) ...Rafflecopter! It is a program that is designed to help entering giveaways go more smoothly and be quicker for those entering to win and those creating the giveaway! I'll be hosting my giveaways through Rafflecopter from now on (as long as everything goes smoothly). Since I'm new to the whole Rafflecopter thing, I may need some help! :) Feel free to point out where I could make improvements or you can offer up friendly suggestions. I am more than happy to answer any questions you might have as well (...if I have an answer).

If any bloggers out there have been eager to try out Rafflecopter, you can send me an email or leave a comment here with your email address, because I have two invites one invite left that I can send out!

Enjoy the upcoming giveaways and I look forward to any feedback you may have!

-CLOSED- Wild Dill & Green Toys Dump Truck Review & $40 GC Giveaway!

Wild Dill is a wonderful online shop that sells organic, fair trade and natural toys, clothes and bedding for little ones. Wild Dill was started by Jennifer and inspired by her son, Dylan. Jennifer wanted to create a store that reflected his sense of curiosity and wonder for everything that is natural and wild. Wild Dill carries over 50 great natural brands that are natural, organic, fair trade, made in the USA/Europe, or recycled! With so many wonderful options for clothing, bedding and toys, you are sure to find something that you can feel good about giving to your little one!

Wild Dill gave me the opportunity to choose what I would like to review from their store - no easy task with so many cute and fun things to choose from! wild Dill definitely carries some of my favorite natural and organic brands, like Under the Nile, Clementine Arts and The Playful World! I finally settled on something that I thought little man would just love playing with... the Green Toys Dump Truck

I love that the Green Toys Dump Truck is made from recycled milk jugs and made in our home state of California! Another huge plus is that it is also made with safe plastic for your little ones! No phthaltes, BPA and lead to worry about here!

When I brought the box from Wild Dill in the house, I'm not sure who was more excited to open it, little man or me! Haha! He got right in and helped me pull the packaging out of the box and then (once I unlatched the Green Toys box), he pulled the Dump Truck right out! I love that the Green Toys packaging is simple and 100% recyclable! There are no pesky ties, straps, tape and fasteners holding the truck down - perfect for little hands to reach right in and start playing!

Little man loves his new dump truck! It is so easy for him to push around the house and load up with toys! He has the best time driving it around our island in the kitchen as he makes "vrrrrooom!" noises. I love knowing that it is a safe toy for him to play with and that the company that created it used recycling to give a used up item new life! The dump truck is very sturdy and has held up excellently to little man's driving maneuvers and crashes into multiple objects. I also think it will be an excellent toy to take to the beach next week! Perfect for hauling hauling sand around. :)

Overall, the Green Toys Dump Truck is an awesome and fun toy to play with - both for little man (whose almost 21 months!) and for hubby and I too! :)

Wild Dill is an exceptional company to work with. I really appreciate and respect their commitment to providing organic, fair trade and natural items. They offer such a wonderful variety of items for your little ones for sleeping, to wear and play with too!

Wordless Wednesday - Bookmark Hunt

Little man's new favorite game: hunting for a bookmark hidden somewhere in Papa's book!

Where'd it go?
Found it!

Happy Wednesday!
